Volunteer Needed:
We are looking for a volunteer to offer support at the studio on 47 Queen’s Way. This role is not set in stone of what help we need. We want this to be adapted to the person who fits our vibe.
Our ideal person will be someone who has a passion for creativity and has ideas that they want to showcase but hasn’t yet found an environment they can do this in.
We need you to be reliable and come in when you commit to coming in. We are flexible but time keeping is an essential skill.
There will be a need to help with keeping on top of the day to day running such as restocking, serving customers, preparing activities and cleaning up after.
Anyone in our Handcrafted Me family will need to be comfortable working with adults and children with disabilities. Sometimes this can be emotionally difficult, which makes us all human and is entirely understandable. A beautiful kind hearted child with a disability can sometimes make you feel like the world is unfair. Creating a space for people to be themselves and feel comfortable isn’t always easy and you will need to be able to listen to people who want to talk through some of their challenges in life. We aren’t just a space for painting and some families come here to be in a relaxing environment, where they can have a cup of tea and breathe for a moment.
We understand that this is a volunteering role and you wont be an employee. In time, as the business grows we will want to get to a position where these are paid positions. That’s why we need help. An extra pair of hand will push us in the right direction of growth.
You must be prepared to have an enhanced DBS check.
If you are interested in joining our team. Please send in an email to admin@handcraftedme.com with either a CV and/or a written statement of why you would be an asset to our team. If you are unable to email us, please pop in for a chat. Do not send us Facebook or Instagram messages regarding this volunteering position.
