We strive to be send (special educational needs and disability) friendly.

From time to time we will update this page with videos of our studio when changes occur. This is so you can see the premises in advance to reduce any anxiety of a new place.

We have a ramp for entry for wheelchairs and buggies. We are happy to move tables around to make the environment more comfortable for our customers if/when needed.

Unfortunately due to this being an older build, our bathroom is not wheelchair friendly. We are sorry for this, but at present we have been unable to find a solution to this.

We have a quiet tent we can access if and when needed.

Ear defenders, sensory toys and pen grippers are available to use at the studio if needed.

We have members of our Handcrafted Me family who have invisible disabilities and/or are neurodiverse. We treat people how we would like to be treated.

We are always happy to help and learn. Feedback on how to improve our service is always appreciated.

Items available to use at the Studio

We have an area of the studio which are for you to use to enhance your experience. We have ear defenders, a seat wedge, adapted scissors, chair leg bangs and pencil grippers.

We will carry on adding to our offering as we grow. If you think of anything that would be useful for us to have for children to use, please let us know and we will look into it.

Meet the team

Sam standing with her mermaid party display

This is Sam.

Sam is a big kid and there is nothing really scary about her. She will be here to greet you and help you with your activities. She loves to dress up and during the school holidays, she will try her best to dress to theme. You may see her one week dressed as a pirate and on another week she may be Maleficent!

Sometimes Sam will have a walking stick. But that’s ok. She just needs to use it to help her walk.

Lily standing with some party balloons

Meet Lily!

Lily is Sam’s daughter. A lot of the workshops are Lily’s idea. She is the creative director and when she grows up she will take over the business.

She loves decorating the studio for parties and is excellent at blowing up balloons.

George holding surfboards

Meet George.

George is Sam’s son. He is a little shy around new people. He likes to help with cutting some of our designs in our staff area with a machine called a laser cutter.

He is happiest in a quiet environment and so may come out to the studio area occasionally to help if it isn’t busy.
