Handcrafted Me - Craft & Art Workshops

Age 7 to 12 years.

Structure of Day

First activity 9:30 - Summer Paint Party

Children will be provided with a pre drawn canvas and stand, supplies, step by step instructions and a colour mixing chart. Together we will all paint the same design. This will be interactive and educational with questions asked to the children in a fun way.

Break at 11:00

Activity 2 - “Every Child Is An Artist” - Pablo Picasso

This is a less structured session so that any child that has not finished their painting from before break can finish. The group will work on a large project together to create a single large piece using mixed medium. There will be examples of different artists and their techniques for the children to explore. This will promote teamwork and broaden their creativity enabling to explore alternative options.

The end project will be taken away and photographed. The photograph will then be printed onto a mug and will include details of the day as a memory item. This will be available to collect a few days after the event.

We will break at 13:00 for lunch. Lunchtime hour also to include board games/ colouring/ table football which we have available at KWMCC.

Afternoon session 14:00 - Slime and Creepy Crawlies.

The group will spend the afternoon exploring the world of bugs and creepy crawlies. They will make slime and learn why snails and slugs have slime. We will explore wildlife whilst making bird seed feeders and bug hotels using recycled items. This will be a free flow afternoon as the children will have lots of energy after their lunch to burn off.

Children will be finished to be collected at 15:30
